Full Moon Fiasco 97 in Review

WOW, nice work FBC! Our annual food drive ride was a huge success. We threw out the challenge of topping our previous high mark for donations, and once again you all came through. Here are some numbers to look at while sipping your coffee...

Last year, we took in 668lbs of food and $72 dollars  cash for the food bank. This year we hauled over 665lbs of food and $350 cash. In case you are wondering what all this boils down to for the food bank and the people they provide for...

The Dept of Agriculture estimates the average person eats 4.7lbs of food per day.  $1 roughly buys you 1lb of food.  So, this year's FBC Sandpoint donations will feed approx 216 people for a 1 day. That is amazing stuff.

We gave out some prizes to those that brought in the most for the ride. FBC Lifetime Members for Life Brandon and Connie brought the most food for the evening at a whopping 96lbs! Amazing job! They were also the top givers the previous 3 years! Is anyone ever gonna be able to take their title? They got a prize. 2nd most weight was FBC Lifetime Members for Life Frank and Jean with 72lbs. They got a prize as well. A special note, we got our largest cash donation ever from Lifetime Member for Life Christine.

This is one of my favorite rides of the year. Obviously, so many people come into making this night a success every year, and it just feels real good to see people pitch in to help others. Thanks again to John at the food bank for leaving his nice warm house to ride over and check in our donations. Thanks to Laughing Dog Brewing for hosting our ride destination. Thanks to FBC Lifetime Member for Life Doug for taking on the mighty Surly utility trailer this year and biking over a very heavy load of food to the food bank. Finally, thanks to all the FBC riders thrat gave so generously and continue to make these monthly rides such a huge success. I am truly thankful for each and every one of you.
