Full Moon Fiasco 59 in Review

Our last ride happened to be during a "supermoon."  What is a supermoon you ask?  Well, it occurs when the big ol' full moon is closer to earth than normal making it appear even fuller and larger than it usual.  Fascinating.  Wanna know something else.  It was so stormy and cloudy that night that you couldn't really see it.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and so our full moon rides during this month usually have some sort of pink theme.  We also donate all monies for the evening to Community Cancer Services.  $90 will be donated to them in FBC Sandpoint's name, thanks to everyone for giving a little extra for the evening.

Our ride also happened to fall on National Bosses Day.  So, the idea was thrown that you should dress like your boss...and somehow work in some pink as well.  That was asking a lot I know.  But many pulled it off.

Almost 40 riders showed up for what started as a very wet ride.  We dipped into South Sand and then headed across the Long Bridge.  I guess there was confusion on where we were headed (although the bridge is rather straight...and well, you can only go one way).  Anyways, the people that followed directions arrived at 41 South.  There Chris and the fine crew served us warm drinks as we sat next to the crackling fire place.

Once everyone was sufficiently dry and warm, we headed back to the Point.  The rain had cleared and it was a fine evening for riding.  The moon tried to make an appearance through the dense clouds.  There was a "bonus ride" through City Beach, the Marina, and yes, there was some roundabout riding as well.

Full Moon Fiasco 59

There is snow in the mountains and I wonder is it...

When: Mon, Oct 17th @ 7pm
Where: Eichardt's
Theme: Does your Boss where Pink?

Historically, our October rides always have had some pink theme in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Well, we are not about to change now.  It has been proven that we have more female FBC Sandpoint Members for Life then men.  Breast are important (don't take that as some "locker room" talk).  Cancer sucks.  Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been effected by cancer.

We will donate ALL spoke card monies and whatever other monies you all wanna donate that evening to Community Cancer Services here in Sandpoint.

OK, so that is the important stuff.  We also know how much you guys like to dress up.  So, our ride happens to fall on National Bosses Day.  We would encourage you to dress up like your boss.  Or just wear pink.  Or dress up like your boss and wear pink too (cleaver).  Either way, dress up, bring some dollars for cancer and let's go ride before snow flies...

Full Moon Fiasco 58 in Review

Back to School was the theme for our last ride.  Some 175+ riders collected in what was probably the last Eichardt's alley party for the year.  It was a beautiful night and ride we must.  So, we left Eich's and headed to West Sand.

Now there was some major construction at the time on Fifth and Cedar.  Our local PD thought it might be a good idea to have a couple patrol cars hold up traffic as we all rode by, so there would not be a major bottle neck between bicycles and cars trying to get through the construction area.  It worked out great and all the riders got through in minimal time, and traffic resumed as usual.  Thanks to the Sandpoint PD for that.

We meandered through West Sand, crossed down into South Sand and eventually ended at Roxy's.  That alley leading up was a dozy wasn't it??!  Thanks to Tami and the rest of the Rozy's crew for their hospitality.

As a note, we had riders from NYC, VA, Seattle, Spokane and CDA on the ride.

There was also a gal running around taking some old school Polaroid pictures...although they were on a new school camera.  Cool, regardless.
