Full Moon Fiasco XXXII

Remember what we did last August?  Of course you don't, that's why I'm here...

When: Mon, Aug 11th @ 8pm
Where: Eichardt's
Theme: Back to School

This was a very popular ride last year.  Lots of people dressed up.  Some memories are still burned in my mind.

If you are sitting there scratching your head, as to what you might wear, let me give you ladies some suggestions: schoolgirl, hot teacher, "that" girl, cheerleader...got it?  Now for you guys, I don't really have many ideas: a science lab geek, prep squad sign guy, track star, principal...I don't think anyone really cares.

There will be some prizes for BEST DRESSED male and female.

Eich's will again have the alley open for us... use it, buy beers and tell them thanks

Full Moon Fiasco XXXI in Review

Some 158 riders means we set some sort of FBC Sandpoint record, at least that's what the bean counters told me.  Congrats to you all, you are awesome.  No really, I mean it this time.  The number of people that show up for these rides is one thing.  But the fact that there is so much positive energy and everyone attempts to maintain a civilized and organized group as we pass through the streets of Sandpoint is another.  It really makes this whole process a rewarding one and is a very positive statement for cyclists in Sandpoint.  But don't get a big head.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.  This full moon, Eich's opened up the alley for us.  That was nice.  We did a loop through City Beach and then hit the bike path out to Ponderay.  There was a rough section and some people went down.  Some people pushed their bikes.  I heard some bad words proclaimed.  However, everyone made it through the yet to be finished bike path to our ultimate destination, Laughing Dog Brewery.  Brit did an amazing job slaying beers...despite her 2 slacker "stand in bartenders."  Props to her.  Fred just so happened to be out of town for the ride, and, so he missed the party at his own brewery.  Bummer for him.

A note on records, our crack FBC Sandpoint bean counters also informed me we had the most number of riders from outside Sandpoint than any other of our rides.  We had riders from Lewiston drive up.  We had riders from Spokane cruise over.  We had riders from Orting and Colville, WA come along, they were here on vaca.  We had riders from Virginia, they were staying the night here while touring cross country.  And finally we had some riders from CDA along.

It was a great evening and ride back to town under the full moon.

Full Moon Fiasco XXXI

I'm sure the fever has hit you...

When: Sat, July 12th @ 8 pm
Where: Eichardt's
Theme: futbol

As I sit to write this, I am wearing my red, white and blue headband and matching tube socks.  In a mere couple of hours, the US Soccer Team will battle Belgium.  They need to win this game to continue.  This game is kinda of an all-or-nothing situation.  As opposed to their last 2 games.  In this tournament where tying can be as good as winning and come to find out, loosing by only a little bit can also be as good as winning.  Who knew?

Anyways, this Full Moon falls on the day of the 3rd/4th place World Cup game and the day before the World Cup Championship Match.  Kinda a big deal I hear, and so a corresponding theme seems only appropriate.  And just imagine if the US happened to miraculously make it into one of those game?  One can only dream...
