So, our sister club...or brother club...or mother club...or whatever the hell you wanna call them, "them" being fellow riders in a nearby city that ride under the Full Moon just like us, had an unfortunate incident. Bikes were stolen at their last Full Moon Fiasco, here is a link to said bikes and a reward for their return...
Keep an open eye. Not cool!

August and it's our 2nd Fiasco of the month, a Blue Moon.
When: Aug 31st @ 8pm
Theme: Hawaiian Luau
Summer is in full swing, so let's celebrate! We'll take a cruise under the moon and end at a very festive place for our Luau.
A reminder, Idaho law requires a front light and at least a reflector on the back of your bike. Let's be safe and not draw negative attention to our ride. Lights are cheap...cheaper than the fine or hospital bill if you land in the ditch. Enough finger wagging.
As always, there will be awards for Best Dressed...needless to say you have all been putting on your best and our panel of judges are really having to work for their money (or lack there of).

We had a record 45+ riders meet at Eichs. After hitting the round-about at City Beach, we took the new bike path North. We took the leg to "nowhere," through the open field full of sand (were we lost a couple riders) and ended up riding the shoulder of Hwy 200 for a bit to the Bonner Mall. As we did laps in the parking lot waiting for everyone to regroup, many wondered where we were going. The Hideaway Lounge awaited us and Kristan was a really trooper handling the large group and Whiskey Wednesday all at once.
Once we had refueled from our ride, we headed out back for some FBC Sandpoint Olympics. First event was mini bike races on two 12" wheeled kid's bikes. Riders had to negotiate 3 cones, a u-turn and race back to the finish. The sight of 40ish people cheering and the two riders racing on mini bikes around the cones under the full moon sky will not soon leave my mind. Although the sight of Fast Eddie "showing everyone how to run the course" and in the processes skidding out and getting a big strawberry on his leg was also pretty memorable.
After mini bike races, it was on to our second event...the classic Huffy toss. We had some solid long throws and we also had some Huffy tossers bodies go farther than the actual Huffy bike did. In the end it came down to a couple cavemen showing off their brute strength. Needless to say, the Huffy was less than rideable after the event.
After all the games, we piled back inside for some awards. Best Dressed went to FBC Sandpoint Founding Lifetime Member for Life Jace. Gold Medal in Mini Bikes was Jen. Gold Medal for the Huffy Toss went to Jeff.
Thanks to the Hideaway Lounge and the super fun crowd that attended and made the night such a blast. Remember that August is a Blue Moon and hence we will be doing this again at the end of the month. Well, not the same thing of course, as there will be a new route, destination and there may or may not be a theme or activity...stay tuned.
